I'm having a look at using Halfords sprays for my N scale 1995 stock, and am hoping someone can recommend the best colours from the Halfords spray range to represent London Underground colours. The colours I need are London Underground Red and Blue, London Underground Dark Grey as used on the front, rear and underframe of 95 stock, and the light grey/silver colour of the roof. The specifications for the red and blue are given in six different systems on page 11 of this pdf from TfL www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/corporate/lu-basic-elements-standard-issue02.pdf, and for all other colours including Underground Dark Grey on page 12 of this pdf www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/corporate/lu-signs-manual-issue04.pdf in the NCS system. However the Halfords website only seems to give the carmakers' brand names for colours, and I can't see any LU colours in the railways-Halfords conversion charts which have previously appeared on the net. Spray paints being rather expensive I'd rather avoid taking a trial and error approach if at all possible, so it would be great if anyone who has previously used Halfords sprays for LU models can advise. Many thanks in advance, Paul

For the red - Toyota Red 3E5- sorry I don't do the current livery.
Take a colour photo down to Halfords and go through the can lids iis the best way for the blue - White should be easy!

I have them somewhere..... I don't use the halfords sprays, they are too thick! For may A stock I use Citadel spray, 'Skull White', the blue is humbrol 'french blue' and I paint the red with 'blood red' and the grey is painted 'fortress grey'. For my old stock I use Molotow sprays. www.flickr.com/photos/25182511@N08/2369407865/in/photostream/

Thanks xerces and and metman. xerces, is that Toyota red for the older "train red" or for the current "bus red" shade? Paul I used it on my Q Stock on with Red Oxide primer and it was a little light compared to the EFE 1938 colour but it was the nearest colour I could find. Here is the photo of the Q Stick however Games Workshop Blood Red and Black Rebab wash have been applied too. XF
