I was changing trains at Harrow on the Hill this afternoon when I heard an announcement stating that "Due to the hot weather all Amersham and Chesham fast trains are departing from platform 1"
It was very warm but I don't think it was hot enough for buckled rails!! Does anyone know the background to the announcement?

I still find it amusing that they reported(Although haven't heard it for a month-2) that they kept saying the East London Line was closed, even when it had reported. As for the fact how many people from Harrow would use that Line, it was just rather pointless announcement.
Yes we all know, the line has been closed for a year...........
