Apologies if this is raking up old ground, in 1985 4 new battery locos (L62-L65) shortly joined by L66 & L67 in 1986 were delivered but by 1993 they had all been stored. Are they still stored some 14 years later ?? Can they be viewed from any public place/passing service? And the all important question, what caused the storage/ short operating life?? Regards Robin

as to why they were withdrawn:
they were less reliable than the old locos and, crucially, not as powerful as locomotives

As far as I am aware they are stored at Ruislip depot, and can be viewed from Picc/Met trains between Ruislip and Ickenham. Between the reversing siding/link to depot and the bridge immediately up from the siding, look south on the triangle formed between the Met/Central/link where they are stored. Unless they've changed since last time I was up there.
