Hello all, I am in the works of making Earls Court 'box for Railways, mainly as I have been planning it and I refuse to pay £32 for the Earls Court signal sim that covers Earls Court panel only! I have a question, as I think I have some signal spaces that are too long, in this photo www.anorakheaven.com/photos/ect_cr27.jpgbelow North Ealing is the Eastbound District, and there is 2 red dots, WMX549 and WM100, are these full auto signals or something else? If they are, I will put 2 aspect signals in that can be set up for auto use. I have had to use some artistic license as some headshunts, like the 2 next to Ealing Common Eastbound platform, don't appear to have starter signals, and to help operations work in Railways, I have added shunt signals there. The shunt signals are like the ones on the NR network, mainly as there is no dolly signals in the sim. Any help as to what the 'red dots' are would be appreciated Regards, James.

below North Ealing is the Eastbound District, and there is 2 red dots, WMX549 and WM100, are these full auto signals or something else? WMX549 is indeed an automatic signal. WM100 is a draw up signal and is associated with WM1. It works automatically as such, but the aspect it shows depends on WM1 is doing. If WM1 is clear, WM100 will also be clear. If WM1 is at danger, WM100 will show a Red aspect that'll clear to a Green with a Yellow repeater below it if the approach speed is low enough (IIRC) thus drawing you up to WM1. Yes I know I haven't described a typical three aspect draw up - I'm fairly sure this particular location works as described.I have had to use some artistic license as some headshunts, like the 2 next to Ealing Common Eastbound platform, don't appear to have starter signals Starter signals are only found at the end of platforms!! The two roads you refer to are actually part of Ealing Common depot - that's why there are no signals apparent

Lol! Sorry for use of that term, but basically what i mean is i am putting shunt sigs there as otherwise amy train there will just move irrespective of junction state thus you could have a collision on hand! Thank you for confirming the signal typrs, i have placed two 2 aspect signals in its place. If anyone wants a screenie i could put one up on flickr on what I have so far. Just need to keep an eye on ebay for WTTs James.

As stated by Colin those two roads are part of Ealing Common depot, they have no 'outlet' signals which would be of no use whatever as the roads cannot hold a train, my recollection is that little more than a single car can be accommodated on either road. It is thus ridiculous to place signals where none exist. That would be 31 & 32 roads both with a length (berth) of 344'

Ahhh I see just looking in the picture the track circuit was occupied, so I assumed it was full set in there, hence I added signals so operations for the sim would allow movements, not really needed then! Will modify and move the blocks back Thank you very much for that James.

The fuses for 32 road are still indeed removed. As an aside there's two signals that should be treated as semi automatic signals that are not visible on that diagram :-)

Picture of VERY W.I.P layout: www.flickr.com/photos/67893901@N07/6178624119/in/photostreamI still have to work on the exit locations, just working on the main bits at the moment. Space is a bit tight for Lille Bridge access too, might need a re-work on that. Feel free to post anything I have missed, but please note, signals I am restricted to are 2 aspect green/red, 3 and 4 aspect (as per BR signal styles) and the red/white aspect shunt signals. There is no dolly's or repeaters in the sim. Also stations ideally need to be the size they are, or it is too big otherwise. Regards, James. Link changed so it actually works. James: please use the button when posting hyperlinks ;D

Sorry what you mean mate? Does the picture not show at all?
**EDIT**
I see what you mean now, the zoom still doesn't show it well. I shall have a fiddle around and break up the map so it is bigger

I don't have webspace unfortunately, the picture is small because when you take a screenshot using the in-built screenshot feature, it ends up that size. I was hoping you could zoom in more in Flickr but you can't, so I have taken screenshots using print screen myself and chopped it in sections that you view in the program: Note all descriptions of line is worked from left to right: 1. Earls Court to Ealing Common www.flickr.com/photos/67893901@N07/6183176156/in/photostream2. Ealing Common through to the eastbound flyunder from Richmond www.flickr.com/photos/67893901@N07/6182656675/in/photostream3. Turnham Green to Ravenscourt Park, Putney Bridge at the bottom www.flickr.com/photos/67893901@N07/6182657249/in/photostream4. Hammersmith to the junction just before Ealing Broadway, Kenny O branch in view, and the rest of the Wimbledon line at the bottom www.flickr.com/photos/67893901@N07/6182657619/in/photostream5. Finally, new addition added to the work, Ealing Broadway to Triangle Sidings, High Street Ken yet to do www.flickr.com/photos/67893901@N07/6182658267/in/photostreamI have tried adding shunt signals before 2 aspect main signals as some are like this of course, but the program won't allow it. I could space it out but this means longer sections which in turn stretches out the map. I don't want it too long otherwise it would take forever to go from one end of the layout to the other! Can anyone advise me on the signals at Turnham Green please? I have taken a stab at it but unfortunately, it is not a photo on the panel on anorakheaven. Regards, James.

Thank you very much, will modify that Just got to the end of boundary at Aldgate, al main bits done! It's a shame the program has restrictions that won't allow catch points with sand drags in etc, and limits signals but still it is an open source program that is in it's very basic format but no-one is working on it at the moment. The operations simulator is a free program created by a sole person called Albert: sites.google.com/site/railwayoperationsimulator/homeVarious user created simulations on there, I have created the rather old Victoria Line (old as the signals are 4 aspect, before the 2 aspect signals were created), the popular full Slough IECC from Paddington to West Drayton and Heathrow, and Victoria VS mainline signal box. This is now my 4th production. Am I right in thinking I saw a website somewhere that actually had the whole timetable online for LUL routes? Might save me trying to get Circle/District WTTs and just come up with empty turns...

Hello,
Sorry for the big bump but it is an update.
I have been busy with other things too, however for those looking forward to it, it's not dropped just yet.
I have finally finished the track, signals, labelling, speed limits etc. and am now in the mist of doing the WTT. I have completed 5 diagrams from start to end so far, just a bit more to do yet!
It is of course a very basic simulation, it won't be 100% realistic with delays etc. but you could clock up delays if you get tied up trying to handle everything solo!
It should be fun to use nonetheless, and I hope to add some more diagrams in soon.
