As I remember it the original A stock car maps were laminated Formica, could often be seen poking out of the corners of the updated paper maps stuck over the top. The corners were rounded at each end to fit with a finishing bead around the edge. The original maps also featured a roundel in Met burgundy in outline with the horizontal bar being just two parallel lines. At some point, probably 1980's a new Formica map was stuck over the top of the originals (badly, bits of glue visible at the edges and no attempt to make it fit properly under the beading. All lost at refurbishment obviously.

As I remember it the original A stock car maps were laminated Formica.............< snip> So were the pre-refurb 1967 stock.
