Not very many any more - just one I think, but need to check WTT. Will do when home - in about 2 weeks. Please give me a reminder unless anyone can check first.

Oh I remember the days of Hainault via Woodford trains, as a child if I was ever on my way home and saw it on the display I'd always beg my mum to wait for it. I don't know what the attraction was, I guess it was just because it was different as they were rare even back then.

I don't know what the attraction was, I guess it was just because it was different as they were rare even back then. Grange Hill via Woodford and into the depot was the norm in my childhood. I always found it odd seeing an 8-car 62TS at Roding Valley as I was so used to the 60TS with two Standard Stock bone shakers between the DMs!

My uncle (who commuted into London from Chigwell well into his 80s!) used to get the Hainault via Woodford trains to and from work in the peak hours, AFAIK. Although, a lot of the time he had to end up waiting for the shuttle.

What is Olly Murs? Is it something to do with Simon Bowel? Why do you watch such stuff?

Maybe it's because I can't see the wood for the trees, but taking a quick look through the current TT66 reveals no passenger trains that go to Hainault via WDF direct from the city. I might be wrong, but I don't have all day as I've got to take the tomatoes out ( bad year! ) If some other staff member wants to go through the TT to find it , they're welcome. Come to think of it, I think there was one as previously mentioned. There are some engineer's trains that go that way from RG late at night - T481 is one. Go to WDF and see it trundle through at 22.59 and a half. Live the dream, experience the thrill!.............
That doesn't mean they don't run that way unbooked. When the job shuts down at Redbridge for example trains via NPK are routed via WDF instead. A lifesaver for the service. And of course there's engineering works which sees trains go to Hainault via WDF on the weekend using a special working TT especially for that purpose if nothing is running past Hainault or NPK on the outer.............
TT66 is a mod of 65 and 65 was supposed to have trains running round the loop in both directions and carrying on. But that never happened for some reason or other. One rumour I heard was that when it was tried in Wood Lanes signalling computer, computer said "No" and crashed, but that's unsubstantiated as are many things one hears about. Like is Olly Murs a dancing singer? Well no, not really, but he has a nice line in millinery and a new candy floss bouffant teased up as homage to a Drax cooling tower............

@ auxsetreq What is Olly Murs? Is it something to do with Simon Bowel? Why do you watch such stuff? Fantastic Question!!!!! Olly Murs is an avatar of all things Simon Bowel << great description BTW. Talents of modest means who prance and sing to other people tunes, namely Si's and when their use is up, discarded. Poor little Joe! I watch such stuff ( now and then ) in a state of hypnotised fascination, because in this world it's essential to keep up with current pop culture. If one doesn't, one could end up trying to play a CD on a wind up gramophone........ Still can't find that train....sorry........."Ceiling Cat, can you take a gander through that red and white book thing over there and try to find a train which goes to Hainault via Woodford direct from the city? Waddya mean "no" you've got better things to do"...........

Ok, I'm lost. When did Olly Murs become part of this conversation?

only Ceiling Cat knows the answer to that. It seems he/she is affected by "Irritating Cowell Syndrome". Cats are relly very mystic creatures. I suggest that Ceiling Cat smokes the dried leaves from auxsetreq's tomato plants. Get a life, Ceiling Cat!
.....and I still don't know what an Olly Murs is or does

He does seem to share the same affection of tv as I do - NONE! If it were up to me, there wouldn't even be a tv here.
Anyhow, back on topic....

While there are loads of trains that come out of Hainualt depot via GRH and then round the loop I don't think there are any HAI via WOO or GRH via WOO on the timetable. Which is just as well as when Wood Lane asked me to make my train HAI via WOO it caused mayhem.
The Leytonstone hokey-cokey. On, off, on, off, look utterly confused and then end up at Snaresbrook when you wanted Wanstead........

Anyhow, back on topic.... Yes, some grammatical and spelling correktions. Also syntax is not my strongest point. Or point not my strongest as Yoda say would. There has been many variations due to engineering work over the past few years involving the loop. Who can forget those scintillating weekends when the outer was suspended but the inner still ran around the loop, and visa versa. Which meant that I left Ealing and ended up back there still at the same end I left in. Even Simon Bowell couldn't achieve that. Which would make me a great contender for BGT.......... There's some weekend weirdness coming up in the new year I think. No service twixt NPK and Woodford. Not really weird but awkward. To go into town from Hainault it's quicker to get the 150 to Gants Hill rather then the rail replacement bus service. There's a great Thai restaurant there. Stop off and have an-all-you-can-eat buffet before carrying on by Tube. But please don't over do it or you could be sick behind my door. Which can be very upsetting for me, my shoes and CC..........

'CD'? Is that like an iPod or something? And as for a gram-o-phone... Brilliant, I remember that sketch from that fab prog. It's bang on the money too. I have a mate who used to work in Laskys ( remember them? ) up in TCR back in the 70's. He told me about a bloke who bought a very very expensive pair of loudspeakers. Took em home and plugged them directly into the mains..........
