Im presuming its due to the S Stock trains but Ive noticed on many platforms (Moorgate a prime example) these small silver boxes with orange lenses attached to the pillars alongside the Platform.
Are they to do with the doors for selective opening?

They monitor for movement during construction - typically for subsidence. Moorgate will no doubt be due to Crossrail tunnelling.

Also the escalator shafts at Bond Street.

King's Cross national rail is covered in them - and if an S-stock turns up there I'll... well I'm not saying as these things tend to come back and bite one on the backside ;D
