Hi Ben - the Tfl stocks description doc says Batteries are approx 62t, so I was using 60t as a 'nominal weight' - right in line with the weight you quote. I assume most of that comprises 'very solid construction' and 'a lot of (lead/acid?) batteries' ;D Similarly, I'm using 40t nominal for a loaded Turbot and 20t empty.
Thanks to TP I know the pinion ratio - anyone know the wheel size? That will help me fine-tune the torque.
Thanks, Jimi

I've now resumed my battery loco cabview but can anyone help with this. I have a pic of the ATP Speedo box but can't quite make out the text on the buttons or are they just indicator lamps. Does anyone know what is actually written on them www.atomic-album.com/showPic.php/41425/ATP speedo box.JPG[/img] Cheers Darren.

Battery Locos are fitted with the Davis Metcalf (DM) braking system, which is very similar to the westinghouse system that it replaced, however the Dm system allows a partial release. Cab Darren - As promised i have some pictures - PM me with details of how i can get them to you.

He advises me they are: 1 Supply 1 2 Supply 2 3 Restricted Manual 4 Other Control Switch On 5 Other Mode Switch On 6 No Mode Selected 7 Code Available So between us Artery we weren't to far out

Do the battery loco buffers lift out of the way for coupling to passenger stock. I'm sure i saw a pic somewhere with them in the raised position and folded back on themselves on the buffer beam but can't find it now.
