This Sunday, the ELL is closed from H&I to New Cross/NXG as well as between Sydenham and Crystal Palace which leaves a 4tph service between NXG and West Croydon.
Is the plan for LO trains to use the crossover that Southern use and return to West Croydon on Platform 2 or go over the bridge via the depot and use Platform 1 as per normal?

Thanks.
I know there's been small closures on the core section before (Canada Water to Shadwell) but I think this is the first mass closure since it reopened.

The closure is required for the points to be installed at Silwood Junction for the extension to Clapham Jct.

Thanks for the pic, that confirms they used the crossover used by Southern during the closure of the line between LB and NXG earlier this year.

What a great set of photos. Could you tell what the work crews were doing with the existing set of points at the flying junction? It looked like they were excavating a six-foot-deep trench underneath the southbound line, which doesn't make much sense given that everything should have already been in place to wire up the points once they were fully connected up.

The works under the southbound line appeared to be to improve drainage. It looks as if a new access chamber has been installed between the tracks. Some of the ground under the footbridge looked a bit boggy in places. Comparison pictures from the earlier stages of the project at : www.flickr.com/photos/unravelled/sets/72157605147781151/with/4242813792/Thanks Dave

Another closure of the core section of the ELL is pencilled in for Sunday October 2nd presumably for extension works?

CIS displays at Highbury & Islington were showing the New Cross Gate trains as NWCRELL (the station's TIPLOC code) for some reason despite the fact they can actually show 'New Cross Gate' on them (as well as any other station).
