It also looks like an O/P stock unit. Although they didn't say it was R stock, it is described as 'Metro Cammell', who didn't build O/P stock. As for it being called Hornby, that seems to happen often on eBay, probably so the item appears in more people's searches, although most people who do this at least write 'suits Hornby'.

I think it's because the bogies are of a old 80's starter set's mk1 or 2. not sure though.

It is a Street Level Models Card kit mounted on Triang Hornby BR1 bogies with an old Triang Hornby motor bogie with coarse knurled wheels Xerces Fobe

I think you'll find they're the old Hamblings litho sheets. Fleet name is different style from the Street Level ones, and the cars are numbered.

I agree - litho sheets, wooden formers for flared skirt and roof, perspex windows in between - and that was it as far as the kit was concerned! Mine's still (unmade) somewhere in the house but has resisted the last 3 attempts to find it!!

It loks like the Hamblings one to me too. It looks to be powered by an old Triang Hornby 'Blue Pullman' motor bogie or similar.

I recently came across some of the wooden roof and flared floor formers whilst rummaging about at home.......An unfinished project from 50 years ago, nothing new there, then!

I think they came from Gamages? in Oxford street, I was only little, far too young to build any kits, but I had to have them as they were "Underground"!

Gamages was at Holborn Circus, not Oxford Street.
