The old entrance leading up next to the station house. these are the latest pics to date. the foot bridge with lighted lamp in progress. out look with.... whiskas cat boxes?? looking up south end platform where signal box and shed will be. ticket office and walk through. on platform for broadstreet . the freight side. lit ticket office . To date is where it is. Lots and lots of more headaches to do but im sure will be rewarding in the end. As well as lights i have stop and go home station signals and electric dc powered points and a sound 501 emu which is on youtube. keep the north london line alive how ever modern it gets.

Thanks Broadtrain1979 for an intriguing insight into the apalling state of the various structures. Can you date these please, just the year would do? The late 60s / early 70s saw so much demolition of interesting but delapidated NLR structures. Platform facilites were reduced to the basic bus shelters, rare examples of these having been 'preserved' by LOROL at South Hampstead and Kilburn High Rd, both now resplendent in Overground creamy-grey! Sadly these two structures were not listed in the recent batch, I can't think why not ......... I digress into incredulity ......
Only the No 2 DC lines' platforms were used, by that time 3-car 501s from Richmond and peak services from Watford, some were 6-cars, along with the odd 3-car from Willesden LL bay, most via Primrose Hill.
LM services to Tring or Bletchley had ceased from 1966-7, the GN services from 1976,with electrification and the arrival of the 313s on the GN&City 'big tube' lines to Moorgate.
To my mind this was another nail in the coffin as BR continued to squeeze the service. BR's hand was forced to do do something in the early 80s, following the relative success of the GLC funded Stratford - Camden Road shuttle, care of 'Ken and Dave' and their pro-rail policies. And of course Broadgate.
At Canonbury, anything not used was demolished and / or just fenced off. Highbury & Islington and Cally Rd were similarly treated, and remained so until the current upgrades.

More NLL gloom ;D Unfortunately this layout no longer exists but a replacement is rumoured to be built at some point in the future. Some of the stock in the video now appears on my Croxley Wiggenhall Road Depot layout at Shows www.croxleywiggenhallroaddepot.co.uk/myblog/Xerces Fobe

Quality work sir! Can't wait to see some pics with trains. Cross London freight at that time would have been a cosmopolitan mix with regards to motive power. The class 16s had gone in 1968 but the 15s were still running and Stratford still had class 20s (pilot scheme ones too). 33s, 73s and 74's all visited the NLL regularly at that time although the chances are that the 74s would have needed help home! Western Hydraulics would have been reasonably common. There are pictures of NBL class 22s and 'Hymeks' at Stratford! Remember that the Midland still had 27s in England to at this stage. The last of them didn't venture north to Scotland until '70 or '71. Don't forget the annual 'Hastings' DEMU trip to Spalding flower show or the 2-BIL tour.....
What a great line to model! Keep up the good work.
