Hi,
Looking at photos of Hammersmith signal cabin it can be seen that there are no facilities for setting up the trains destination so the question is how is this done at Edgware Rd as the trains always come into the platforms with the sign showing the destination.
Is this set up before the junction or just outside the platforms and will this change with the work going on at the moment.

There is an ex Paddington Suburban TD set up. It is also semi automatic (can be set to Plaistow and somewhere else!) or set up for any OR TD.

Trains coming from Baker Street will have a Train Description (TD) already set-up from Baker Street Signalling Centre. This TD transmits through the various TD equipment onto the platform describer. As the last signal before the platform (3 or 4) is cleared, the TD is "bounced" onto the Train describer. Once the train departs and crosses Praed Street Junction, this TD is then sent forward to Earl's Court or Hammersmith (the latter of which never sees the TD as it has no equipment).
Trains coming from Earl's Court/High Street Kensington will have a TD set-up from Earl's Court Control Room. It transmits as above, and if the train continues eastbound, the TD travels forward to Baker Street SCC.
Trains coming from Hammersmith currently have no TD, so it is manually set-up by the Edgware Road signaller, as Harry says above.
As an aside the signaller at Edgware Road can also manually set-up TDs on any platform. This means any train that is diverted from its booked path can be described correctly to our customers and then sent on correctly to the next control room.
As all areas of the "old Circle" were TD enabled, a train would in theory travel round all day without it's TD being touched, as it would simply bounce from one control area to the next.
