Had a long ride from Epping to West Ruislip yesterday in a non-refreshed train. For all their flaws, the 92s are still my favourite tube stock. They go like hell and, for the generally short-distance ridership they experience, that's gotta be their main reason for being.

I like the 92's too - but they could have been made so much better. They were the first new trains that I was old enough to see enter service. (was a bit young to go out and watch the D's and 83's come in!)

I've seen two unique trains this week each with their own different resprays...
On one train the first two cars had a respray in Matt White. On the other train it was pure graffity...I preferred this as it was Glossy and not Matt.

I remember when the 92's were not in service for long that they had problems with the destination blinds? I'm sure I remember that some trains has destinations stuck to the front of them?

I remember when the 92's were not in service for long that they had problems with the destination blinds? I'm sure I remember that some trains has destinations stuck to the front of them? They originally had LCD destination and train number describers which malfunctioned possibly due to being exposed to bright sunlight. They were temporarily replaced with a tray of plasticised cards in the lower M door. Now replaced by LED describers which are difficult to see if the sun is on them, or more than likely hidden behind grime and dust.........apart from that they're ok........ish.............. According to Official Tube Make-believe aka OTM, a staff organ shoved through my slot every month courtesy of postie. The trains are to be filmed over in Hainault depot due to complete next year........ Also OTM congratulates itself in reporting that a trial saw that over 50 trains were kept in service whilst being "cleaned" while on-the-move. Cleaned of vom, spilt drink and other what-was-once-inside-the-body-but-is-now-out-of-it-again horrors. Really! I don't remember any cleaners cleaning my vom attacked footsies and washing my uniform at 40c with a gentle spin. Honestly some of the rubbish in that mag has me retching, all over the floor just behind the driver's cab..................

Indeed, we don't see it in a very good light on this forum. Personally, I think it's not only ugly, but pointless as it's going to be removed anyway, plus there's the risk of getting caught. Pillocks, the lot of them.

Oh, and it costs money too - money that could just as well have been used designing new stock or upgrading signalling systems.
