Hi, my first post on this section, a friend in Finland sent me the following request. No doubt someone here will have the answer! Not railway, but LT film related!
I just received a DVD "London's Pride" that has five LT films. The ones I wanted, and got, were "Moving London" and "London on the Move". I've had them both as (illegal!) Betamax tape copies long time ago and was happy to locate a DVD release that had them both.
What bothers me is that I distinctly recall seeing a few scenes of LT that I thought had to be on either of these films but they were not. The scenes I'm missing are:
- a passenger seat cushions cleaning machine (mechanical brushes) - a scene where an experienced conductor demonstrated how to tear a ticket from ticket holder - a shot where a member of the staff glances himself in full uniform at a full size mirror with notes printed to the mirror pointing to the things one should check - at the end of the film there was a scene of special buses going to Epsom Downs.
None of these scenes were on any of the five films on this DVD.
Have you any idea what might have been this film? I do think it was B/W, all the films on this DVD are in colour

I know I have seen these clips you mention on a DVD I have... have to ferret about and see which one or ones the clips are on!

Eight films are available for viewing on the LT Museum's website. www.ltmcollection.org/films/index.htmlI've not checked, but it could perhaps be possible that at least some of the clips that you mention might be from "All That Mighty Heart" - although this film is in colour. Anyway, it's well worth watching (in my opinion), as is the classic "Our canteens"!

Certainly sounds familiar... The canteen one is good, shows how they used to be!

And probably not afraid to chase you down the platform with a ladle if you dare argue with the Head Cook over quality or portion sizes...

I think all the clips you refer to are from the LU film 'Moving Millions' (1947).

Hi DavidH -- I'm the person whose behalf Roythebus asked the question. I've just joined the forum ao I can say Thanks a "million"!
Has anybody any idea where to get the film "Moving Millions"? It looks as if it is not in YouTube and I haven't come across any DVDs in eBay either.
