Yesterday I was out photographing freight and passenger stuff, using the Tesco Cromwell Road Car Park. I was surprised to see a C stock train on the lead from Lillie Bridge onto the Olympia branch. After the D stock service train to High Street Ken left, the points changed and the C stock exited, went to Olympia, picked up some passengers then presumably headed off to High Street where I guess it morphed into a Wimbledon train.
Is it normal that C stock is stabled at Lillie Bridge?

Yes, at least while Triangle Sidings are being altered to take S7 Stock.

Dan

I guess I've never been there that early before so I've never seen any passenger stock there before

Yes, at least while Triangle Sidings are being altered to take S7 Stock. Regards, Dan I thought it was all finished considering there are the new tunnel lights/S7 Arrestor(buffers) and new LED Shunt Signals Yes during the morning around 6am its possible to see two C-Stocks on Platform 1 and 2 at Earl's Court at the same time!

A fair few District (C and D) and Circle and Hammersmith line trains are stabled at Lillie Bridge. Currently: 4x H&C C Stock, 4x DR D Stock, 1x DR C Stock Mon-Sats. Triangle sidings were recommissioned from 22 May with currently: 2x H&C C Stock, 1x DR C Stock.

Saw something on Monday that got me wondering... I Was waiting at Embankment for a westbound District line service (at about 14:30), and the first train which arrived was a Wimbledon service, but was a C Stock! This was the first time I saw a C stock operating a District line service apart from the Wimbleware's. I let the train go as another train was a minute behind in hope of getting a picture. The rear of the train was 5721 I think and it was running as set number 073. I thought of two possibilities, that it could of originated from either the Edgware Road-Hammersmith area or Barking where C stock are stabled overnight, and was sent down to Wimbledon where it would later form a Wimbleware service.

It probably had been diverted to Mansion House because of something. T073 is due at Earl's Court WB (from Edgware Road) at 14.37 so this would be about right for it's WB working.

I'm sure that on Monday there was a fairly big shutdown in the Edgware Road area too

I have seen several D stock shunting to the side road from West Ken at night, but never any C stock and never anything coming out of there in the morning.
Do DL D stock and DL C stock leave LBDT via West Ken early morning or some other way?
Do H&C C stocks go up towards Olympia and then into Earl's Court? (I had always assumed all H&C stock was stabled within the extent of that line, so was surprised to hear there were any at Lillie Bridge!)

I believe C-stocks do go via Olympia, at present there is only one D-stock working (151) that leaves Lillie Bridge in the Olympia direction

Good to know. Thank you, Julian. I think I need to get up earlier one morning to see that from the bridge on the A4!

Indeed, at present 5x C Stock and 1x D Stock leave towards Olympia. The remaining 3x D Stock leave towards West Kensington (pick-up Barons Court).
All trains are booked to run empty from Olympia. The H&C C Stock are booked to enter service at either High Street Kensington or Earl's Court, terminating at Edgware Road, Aldgate or Barking (strange that no blinds are provided for: "Barking via Edgware Road"!) The DR C Stock runs as usual to Edgware Road.
