I've noticed that today the Met is running to Moorgate, H&C to Aldgate and the Circle is running a circular service.
This gives me a couple of questions:
1) Why are they terminating the H&C at Aldgate and the Met at Moorgate? Why can't the Met run its normal route and service and stop the H&C short at Moorgate instead?
2) Whats stopping the Circle Line running to Hammersmith yet allowing the H&C to continue its service on this part of the route?

I wonder if the circle is not running to Hammersmith to enable the Hammersmith and City line trains to run the Hammersmith - Aldgate service?
I.e you're sending less trains down there so timetabling on that section is easier.

Pretty much correct Not really a case of timetabling being 'easier', more to do with number of trains available With Barking Sidings not available, there simply aren't enough trains to run the normal Hammersmith extended circle pattern, hence reverting to 'trad' circle
