Today, I rode the unit 51546 (95TS) and I realized that the inter-carriage door of the first carriage was a 1996ts-style one.
Why is it?
Cheers.

Lack of actual spare parts! They're from the same 'family' of trains, so why not just make do?

The outside edge of the door is that aqua-turquoise colour as well!

That'd be one bloody tight frame.. it's part of the door assembly. I've had this train before, unless there's a different one with the 96 door.

What is the purpose of the turquoise bits on the interior of the 96TS? It's hardly like they match the line colour, and the 95TS doesn't have them so it can't be a RVAR issue. It just seems pointless and sacrifices commonality between the stocks a tad.

DVA? Do you mean RVAR?
I think it looks nice on the 96. It gives some sort of brightness to the interior, the 95s just are too clinical.

^^RVAR yes. Haha. I don't think it looks nice at all, the colour combination of blue seats, yellow handrails and turquoise details is nauseating.

I think the 1995 stock interior should be more like the 1996 stock

I wish the doors would stay closed properly. Lost count of the number of times I've had to slam shut a door that's swung open while the train's moving on the Northern Line.

Same on Jubilee... especially annoying when you stand next to it and it hits you.
