Due to a potentially serious issue which came to light today in relation to the current website hosting company (not the ISP) I have taken the decision to switch to an alternative website hosting provider for the my Croxley Wiggenhall Road Depot site croxleywiggenhallroaddepot.website.orange.co.uk . This decision was not lightly as it will involve more work in setting a new site up, however as events unfolded today it became apparent that this was the best cause of action for me to take. The up side that the current Croxley WRD website is hosted on a Flash based templates, which whilst fairly easy to work with have serious limitations when it comes to navigation and this is also a format that Apple is moving away from. I have looked at the various website hosting providers and want a provider where it is easy to load content into a website template. Recommendations for best providers would be appreciated. I am not sure when the current Croxley WRD site will go off line however I will set the new one up as quickly as possible and look to add additional functionality where possible. I will post details of the new website when on District Dave when I have it up and running. Xerces Fobe

Good morning.
I can recommend freewebs I've never had an issue with them in five years. All of my files are held online by them (aside from photos) and it was from what I remember relatively painless to set up. I'm at work at the moment but when I get home I'll send you a link so you can browse.
Cheers, Gary

Hi Gary Thanks I have opted for iPage and have set up the homepage not quite as easy as they would have you believe and lots of extras for you to purchase with recurring costs! On the plus side the customer support is truly amazing best I have ever come across! Here is the link I see how it goes www.croxleywiggenhallroaddepot.co.uk/Xerces Fobe

I have now modified the new Croxley Wiggenhall Depot Website that utilises WordPress which is a very popular blogging/website tool. I am still on a steep learning curve and have only 3 pages published so far. I intend to develop this site further and make it a focal point for all things related to the layout and there is the ability for visitors post comments ask questions etc so please have a look at the site and any feedback on how I can develop and improve the site will be most welcome. Please note the modified URL www.croxleywiggenhallroaddepot.co.uk/myblog/Xerces Fobe

With the changes to District Dave Forum (which I like and think the team have done a fantastic job) it has prompted me to provide an update on the situation with my Croxley WRD websites. Following many hours of trying to get any non-automatic response form Magix, the host company of my original Croxley WRD Site! croxleywiggenhallroaddepot.website.orange.co.uk/ I have now terminated my contact with Magix. This site will remain live until 03/06/2012 however no new information will be posted there and I will start removing content in the coming weeks leaving just a single page with a re-direct to my new Croxley WRD website www.croxleywiggenhallroaddepot.co.uk/myblog/which I will develop this site further in the coming months. I am glad that that I have closure with Magix as this has been probably the most frustrating dealing I have ever had with a on-line supplier who acted in a way that is questionable under British law (they are a German company), made it near on impossible to cancel a contract with them and demanded handwritten letters scanned in and e-mailed to them plus a lot more hassle. On a positive note I have been asked to write an article on the layout by one of the well known Railway Magazines, more info to follow on this soon. Xerces Fobe

That does sound rather odd.
Well done on the article. I look forward to seeing Croxley Wiggenhall Road in the press.
Cheers, ~ Gary
