Apologies if this thread is being covered elsewhere... As I'm sure many people will be aware, tomorrow, 6th June 2011, marks 40 years since the "Last Steam Train on the Underground" ran, a demonstration works train from Moorgate to Neasden Depot, together with an open day there. I'm sure many people will also be aware that Fotopic, who hosted many online photo collections, including my own, went out of business back in March this year. This is just to let everyone know that I have now started a replacement site with Smugmug, and have a few of my LT steam pictures on my new site, the LT steam collection can be found here: plumbloco.smugmug.com/Trains/London-Transport-Steam/16300369_qP5Y6many more pictures still to add. I've a long way to go before I get back to where I was with Fotopic, but I'm taking the opportunity to re-process the pictures as my skills and techniques have improved (?) over the years since I first started scanning old slides, so it will take me a while to upload everything anew. Sample shot here: Clicking on this image will take you too the larger picture on my site with full caption. Cheers, Geoff

Thanks once again Geoff... somewhere I still have that 10000 photo you sent me! I work every day with classic, usually ex-magazine photos of the highest standards and yet yours still amaze me with the quality of image and subject.

Here's L99 at the Spa Valley Railway gala last year. They also have some LT engineering wagons that they ran it with.

Thanks for letting us know that your pictures are back online Geoff. They are manna from heaven to a modeller of LT engineers stock.
I felt old enough knowing that the 6th of June was the 32nd anniversary of me leaving school. My Dad has another reason to remember the date. He was on HMS Hawkins off of Omaha beach in 1944.......

Thanks for the comments everyone, much appreciated and very encouraging, I'll try my best to get as much as possible back up on my site as soon as I can, but it is a slow process.
At the moment, the LT collection just has steam in it, I'll expand it again to include other stock as well, though I haven't got much of that.
A bit frightening that it's 40 years since it ended - where did all the time go?
Cheers, Geoff

They did a special run on 16th June 1971 from Moorgate to Neasden. I remember it well. I was doing Circles. Proper ones I mean, hard core, not the namby-pamby ones they do now.

I remember the last trip was featured on TV with filming at Farringdon.

Great photos Geoff - I posted a news item on RMweb with a link to your excellent photos and of course credited you Xerces Fobe Thanks for doing that Xerces, I keep meaning to update links to my site on various forums, but there is always so much to do that I keep forgetting. I'm doing my best to get as much on to my new site as I can, but it's a slow and time consuming process as I like to be able to upload the best quality photos that I can, which means some reprocessing of old scans is necessary as my standards keep increasing... I'll get there eventually! Cheers, Geoff
