Today's RAIL mentions that in the new National Rail timetable that the 2254 Basingstoke-Waterloo is diverted after Wimbledon (via Wimbledon North Junction to East Putney Junction then Point Pleasant Junction) into Clapham Junction Windsor Lines platform thence Waterloo.
SWT have said that "This is the result of the need to provide more services via the East Putney route for train-crew route knowledge purposes, which can only be achieved at a time when there is a less frequent District Line service operating on that route."
As you know the present services are:
0042 SX Waterloo - Strawberry Hill
0105 SX Waterloo - Southampton Central
0454 SuX Basingstoke - Waterloo
Although the last Up Weymouth can go that way (or via Virginia Water) if there are works.
