Central Line is very frequent. Is this true? I don't usually get the 1992 stock but i decided to get it from Northolt to Shepherds Bush around a week ago. At Northolt they seemed to take around 4-5 mins. Which i think is alright for a line that doesn't just run on one branch. But when i got to Shepherds Bush i got off the train and by the time i was at the end of the platform another train approached. Is this rare to happen, or is it normal on some tube lines?

The Central line runs 30 Trains Per Hour I think not sure about off peak? I remember at Oxford circus the train departed and the next one came in about 10 seconds later!

That is normal on the Central Line. And in zone 1 and 2 it is actually not even frequent enough. Morning rush hour would easily be served by 60 tph and still feel busy.
Unfortunately the trains can't run any closer together than they already do and lengthening is not an option either. That is why all plans to solve this problem involve building alternative routes so fewer people need to use the Central Line. One of those projects is called Crossrail.
By the way, if you go to Leyton where there is a long straight stretch just next to the station you can often see two trains at once. One is on the platform while you can already see the next one approaching in the distance!

Thankfully, I've never heard the dreaded "This train is being held here to regulate the service." announcement on the Central Line.

30TPH on the Central Line in the central section only during peak times only. On the branches I'm guessing 15TPH. Not sure if they run a shuttle service on any of the branches which could give more than 15TPH.

Thankfully, I've never heard the dreaded "This train is being held here to regulate the service." announcement on the Central Line. Happens alot at Marble Arch, both platforms, as its a regulating point.
