In the past (it must be a couple of years or more ago now) when a train came into the platform a couple of guys would go through the train checking it,testing the PA and passenger alarms and from the amount of air being released the emergency stop or whatever controls in the cabs.
This then stopped but I can't remember when.
Are the checks no longer required or are they done on the depot?

I think it stopped last year, due to lack of staff I believe and all that is now done in the depot. Was also done at Hainault.

LUL stopped this as part of its cutbacks. The staff that performed this role have been 'moved' into maintenance roles that, in grade terms at least, are generally beneath the level they were previously working at.
