Travelling between West Ruislip and Ruislip Gardens recently I thought that from the unusual noises there was a faulty axle bearing or somesuch. On the way back different train, same noise now all trains make it.
After the recent rain I noticed that the shoulders of the rail head were that bright orange colour of freshly rusted metal.
Can anyone confirm that the rails have been ground between West Ruislip and the points into the depot just short of Ruislip Gardens?

Yes I noticed it the other day but it's been like it for a while now! It's either a so called c/w replacement, or track that needs replacing

Yep, the rail grinder was out there doing it's stuff a couple of weekends ago! I piloted it back into the depot!

The unusual noises can also be heard when you are approching and departing Perivale on the Westbound

Yep, the rail grinder was out there doing it's stuff a couple of weekends ago! Thanks. You couldn't get them to finish off with a nail file and good buffing next time could you ? It still makes me think something is wrong each time I travel that section. I haven't been westbound through Perivale recently so I haven't heard the noise there. Andy
