Just something i wanted to know, not sure if its been covered before, but during the refurbs off all stock before the 92ts, why was the A stock the only one not given a DVA? i notice that even the 67ts were given one despite being built around the same era!

The A stock has lots of different stopping patterns, the only line to have this (if you ignore Turnham Green on the Picc), I believe this was part of the reason. Also the trailers are too noisy anyways, aren't they?

Yes, the s stock had to have them.
I'm glad the A stock doesn't have a DVA, nice and quiet!
It may have been to save costs. The A stock refurb nearly didn't happen, so I guess a DVA was not on the list of priorities!

DVA wasn't on the C stock on refurb it was added later. There was plans to add DVA to the A stock when I was on the Met in around 2001. I don't know why it never came about.

Certainly wasn't in the PPP requirements until the 'refurb' date, which with the other performance requirements really meant new trains. The SSL contract went to Metronet of course and their bid certainly didn't include DVA on 'A' stock or indeed anything else not implicit in the contract.
