Nope, no misunderstanding, although there's nothing to suggest why! I was going to say "perhaps some obscure situation where trains can't run in service in one direction" but there really is no reason I can see! A possible reason why trains could only run in one direction would be if either the arrivals or departures platform at Waterloo was out of action but able to be run through (perhaps a platform surface issue). No idea if that was the case yesterday though.

That was the sort of thing I was thinking, although depending on the main flow and direction that trains can't take passengers in, is it really worth running the service at all? (At the time I took my screenshot it should have been a closed notice though - as no trains run at 11:30pm under any W+C timetable!)
