So I saw a Hainault train depart leytonstone eb at a pretty low speed until pretty much all of the train was in the tunnel before it accelerated. The next train which I got on was an Epping train and it did the same thing.
So what's up with the speed restriction? I noticed some yellow paint on the track and the bolts on the track didn't seemed to be screwed in by the signal. As well as some new track lying by the side. So I'm guess there's trouble with the track?

They've been doing track work down at Leytonstone since records began, yet there is still old track around most of the area.

I was on a train on the Hainaut branch on that day and I was puzzled as to why the train slowly crept into the tunnel. It wasn't until the train was a good distance in before it picked back up to normal line speed.
I was going to do a thread on this myself as I was curious as to whether it had anything to do with the vandalism and the trains were on speed restrictions for safety purposes.

Gone now I think.
Saw a Hainault train leave at normal speed at then the Epping train I was on.
Seems like there's new track there now though, looks very brown.

I should think by now something would have been done to the tracks to get normal running speed on the trains again. Plus, they couldn't really chance leaving the track in a bad state incase a train was to pass over it at normal speed and derail. I ain't sure what the chances of that happening could be, but looking at the history of derailments on the Central line due to some form of faulty equipment, I wouldn't take any chances
