Anyone want to bid on this and then ask for a real train? Nowhere does it say that it's not an actual train, so I think we should bid, then get trading standards involved when we don't get an A stock

£1.50 P&P for a train is rather reasonable I think! Quite how you'd fit it through a letter box, or have the postie carry it, is another matter!

Perhaps it's a collection service from your local train station (presuming the gauge and clearance is correct!)

Ever heard of reading a description, anyone on this thread? 'Price is for an A4/10"x8" size print.Other sizes available through Website.' That text was rather small and so I assumed it was some eBay legal small print - damn

The title could at least include print somewhere, but it's always important to read the description fully!

How disappointing it would be if you were expecting a train after winning the bid!

Reminds me of how a woman was suckered into paying some medium amount of money to cover the shipping on an organ she had won. She had all these grandiose plans of her kids and grandkids becoming musicians. She ended up getting - in the regular mail - an harmonica! [Billed as a "mouth organ"!] [[Does one say "an harmonica" or "a harmonica". Over here we pronounce the "h" so use "a". Oh! this English language!]]

Now that is a good question! I think it depends on the quality and era of education of the person you ask. We were taught that 'an' only applies to words that start with the sound of a vowel, however more eminent and eloquent persons who had the tripartite education seem to use 'an' for words starting with a soft 'h'. In these situations the upshot seems to be the 'h' becomming silent... "an hotel" -> "a n'otel". Wheres Mrfs??

Wheres Mrfs?? *waves* A before a consonant unless a silent 'h'; An before a vowel unless 'u' sounds like 'y' or 'o' sounds like 'w' - a unicorn in a one woman show. H is peculiar. It depends if it is stressed or unstressed. If you speak the vowel first 'otel 'orrible 'orrific then its 'an'. Reminds me of 'here hare here' from Withnail & I.

I'm uneducated with a rough SE London accent, so it's "an armonica" (init)
