I'm expecting 5072+5191 to be operating 717 on Monday. Juliang's run down of last night's evening peak suggests 5072 was uncoupled from 5191 and is now formed up with 5149 hence why I suggested 5070. I wonder if its a typo? I didn't see 5149 today but I did see three of the 5 8-car sets not in service last night.

BT Police 'casing' the Northwood Siding yesterday - maybe they are going to try and pinch the b*st***s this coming week if another train enters the graveyard!

Yes, I had a quick chat with them. So I saw - thought they might be hassling you - did they give any clues about their reason for being there?

Yes they did, but I don't think it would be appropriate to discuss it here.
I have to say, they were perfectly pleasant though.

5191 and 6191 gone. I understand T717 will operate again on Wednesday so presumably two more units will be withdrawn tonight?

Oh dear. That doesn't leave much time to clear the siding!

5190 & 6190 loaded this morning. Presumably they'll be back for 5071 and 6071 later today and then the final 2 cars in the morning.

Any plans for Wednesday? Do we know the units? If I was to guess I'd say.... 5030+5185

5030/5185 has been gone a long while. Do you mean 5130/5189?

5030/5185 went in October 2011. Sad day for those fans of loud motors. As for 5130, I'd hope it'd be a later exit from service, but being a non-beaded A62, I doubt it has much longer left.

Would be grateful if someone could advise whether T717 is running today. Thank you!

Much like the front of any A60, whereas most of the A62s had an extra line running around the destination blind box. I believe that the term for that extra line is 'beaded.'

I'd just come out of the dentist and saw a non-stop A60 train cruise through. My heart sank. Saw that one of the units was 5038!
I hope there's not going to be two scrappings a week often!
To answer the beading question; for whatever reason (I'm still trying to find out why) A62 units 5158-5230 were delivered with beading around the destination box. A62 units 5124-5156 had the standard A60 type plain box. In addition from units approx 5128 onwards, trailers also had roof vents above the communicating doors.

5130 would appear to be in great nick, and as it shares my old student ID, I hope it can last for a good long while yet.

Got a bad feeling that 5116 and 5024 are to be withdrawn tonight. One thing I noticed was the lack of the new hastily applied (on other units and trains on LU) £80 penalty fare transfers on the doors.

I'd be surprised if 5116 went. Being a de-icer I would expect it to go later. Maybe its been outstabled and missed the rounds!?
