Crossover work at Bethnal Green and rail grinding between Leytonstone and Newbury Park. If they use "that" railgrinder, hope it "behaves" this time

I thought that troublesome railgrinder was only banned from the Northern... don't quite remember though.

Don't know the current state regarding the Rail Grinder, but the Timetable Notice for the weekend definitely says "Rail Grinding". Maybe this bit of the work won't happen??

Could it be that a whole load of workers will be out with the manual equivalent of grinder. All them sparks and dust and metallic particles...

I thought that troublesome railgrinder was only banned from the Northern... don't quite remember though. Its 'licence' to operate on LUL was withdrawn after the runaway. It is mentioned in the Formal Investigtion Report. There's no mention of it running between other locos. Indeed I'm sure that the FIR mentioned that it could only go between the Schomas (then theres the issue of the tow bar!) As an aside, I see that LU have gotten an award for how the incident was dealt with.....,

This really is beyond a joke. Has anybody in Service Control/Train Management actually been disciplined/sacked over this?

Not that Speno have been without their problems either... pics.kuvaton.com/kuvei/train_accident2.jpg

Has anybody in Service Control/Train Management actually been disciplined/sacked over this? No, it seems to have been put down to a system engineering failure in the end.
