Some early reference shots for anybody who might be interested. www.flickr.com/photos/version-3-point-1/archives/date-taken/2011/02/10/Cubic re-installed the gates taken from the Jubilee line gateline in this ticket hall. It has a GLAP built into the structure, but no ticket office, so any issues that require a ticket office will be directed downstairs into the queue that will end up going outside the station (and it does from time to time), because the main ticket office area is so poorly designed... It was more or less finished last year, but it opens when Westfield get themselves in gear. Still a few bits and pieces missing, like the step-free access to ground level, but the Westfield bit is coming along nicely (though I unfortunately missed the tours they were doing for the site – they're pretty much running to schedule, so we should see them opening this year).

Thanks for these pictures. Looks interesting up there, especially the curved gateline. There's a few acronyms I don't know though.
ESUB, WAG, GLAP
Please could someone enlighten me?
(Edit: sorry remembered one WAG = Wise Aisle Gate)

(Edit: sorry remembered one WAG = Wise Aisle Gate) Oh – sorry about that. LU and their glorified acronyms (that unfortunately seem to stick). ESUB = Electronic Service Update Board GLAP = Gate Line Assistance Post/Point

Smashing, thanks for those! Our company is a sod for acronyms too! But does it keep changing them like LUL does? e.g. GLAP used to be known as TCB (ticket collector's box) ESUB was just an EWB (electronic white board) when they first appeared to replace the original white boards. Also don't forget such old acronyms as TO and TH which are also known as BO and BH i.e. ticket and booking are the same thing but then TO also means Technical Officer to signal, electrical and comms engineering and it means Train Operator to the operating department. There are far too many acronyms in use and plenty of ambiguity to be found such as PTI which can mean Positive Train Identification or Platform Train Interface and TT can mean Tunnel Telephone or Track to Train etc etc.

Which one is the Northern Ticket Hall? Is it the one where you climb up about a thousand steps into an absolutely massive concourse with no more than 10 people in it at any one time (including staff!), then go through one of the thousands of ticket barriers and Central Line Platform 3a is on your right?

No, I thought this was discussed on this thread but it would appear it was elsewhere. The original photos are of the ticket hall you are talking about which is known as the 'Mezzanine Ticket Hall', the 'Northern Ticket Hall' is on the north side of the station built in as part of the Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre and is yet to be opened. The photos on the London Reconnections Website that I posted here are of the unopened Northern Ticket Hall.

Slightly OT but the new bus station at Westfield (East) has had its lettering altered from STRATFORD E20 BUS STATION to STRATFORD CITY BUS STATION. This occured before the centre opened but had been visible from the new LO platforms 1 & 2. More bizzarely, if you go around to the back of the development, the loading bays appear to be numbered using Johnston Type numerals, as do the exterior car park levels. In contrast is the mininal, unimpresing and rather dated logos and lettering on the International station. This even includes a poster invitation to try out the "preview" services, which actually commenced in 2009!

I remember seeing the signs from Stratford Regional at the Eastern End of platforms but I only remember it saying Stratford City Bus Station although I do remember the 'Stratford City' sign outside the front of the bus station originally said 'Stratford City E20' and I did wonder what happened to the E20.

It looks very similar to the SSL ticket hall at Kings Cross St Pancras... Am I the only one who has noticed this?
