Of course Class 357 units have toilets. Overall I am impressed with the ride quality, quietness and comfort of the trains; don't know about 10 hours on one. I'd go for the railtour but I'm away racing that day

10 hours in a train - that's a bit extreme! It will only be 10 hours if you spend the lunch break sitting on the train.

I have likewise applied for tickets. Be interested to know where they are going to turn us for the "run past Ilford Depot". Thoughts anyone?

one lucky person will get to see it from the cab! Almost, one lucky person will get to see a bit of it from the cab. How much we betting it's the bit between Fenchurch St and the Supervising Manager's home station? </cynic>

As regards timings, on another Forum it has been suggested that they are to be discussed but going into Ilford Depot is out becuase of clashes with NXEA. Ilford Bay looks to be on.

The train can turn at Seven Kings. Cross over is on Down Eletric, just before Seven Kings Station.

c2c have started phoning successful applicants for tickets today. I'm on. Me too. They called me on Saturday and took my debit card details, although as yet haven't taken the money for my two tickets.

Had a call from c2c about 15.00 for my payment details (again). All done and dusted, waited on the phone while they made the transaction, now looking forward to receiving the e-mail so I can go and pick up the tickets at Fenchurch Street!

Is everyone bringing their own food, or purchaisng from stores in the Fenchurch Street/Southend areas before hand?
Also, with no District line east of Bromley-by-Bow, how do you reckon people at Barking will react when we pull in at about 18:00 to do the set down only stop?

I've heard that date mentioned too, it's a time when quite a lot of the SSL lines are not closed for engineering work, which might give a clue to its ambitions (i.e. not just Walthamstow - Brixton and back). We shall have to see what transpires, but given the organiser once got a Chiltern 'bubble car' on the Chesham branch, if anyone can do it, he can!

Perhaps a Mod could seperate the last two postings and this one to the Vic Forum? I was on the Auto Tube Rambler tour that went all over the shop, with an unusual 8-car on the Picc. Highlight was the Hammersmith Siding Sand Drag...the unitentionally...being the middle option of the three that faced Barons Court. Well, highlight for me; others would argue that it was the Ealing Broadway crossover. Solidbond's site is here: www.solid-bond.co.uk/LUArchive/html/auto_tube_rambler.html
