Just a quicky. Does anyone know roughly when the 'London Transport' lettering was no longer applied to the 'Dreadnought' coaches? Would it have been roughly around the early-mid 50s when 'London Transport' was also dropped from non-driving multiple unit vehicles? Thanks.

I think you may be right, but maybe TP could confirm?

The Snowdon book shows a Dreadnought 1st in the mid 50s still with London TransporT on it.
I'll check some of my colour books which later late 50s pics in and I'll check the museum site.....

Thanks for those. They look like they were still in varnished teak finish so couold the change have happened at about the time that they fleet was painted towards the late 50s. Most of the pics I have seen taken within a year or two of the end show them without lettering so I think I will go with that on my 4mm scale set.
Once again, thank you all.

It is interesting. The T stock seem to have been painted brown earlier than the Dreadnoughts. The 6 Bogie stock coaches are teak till very late.
