Hi all. Does anyone have any dimensional information on the two Hunslet tanks, L30 and L31, built for the District in 1931? I fancy having a go at bulding one just to have something different from Pannier tanks! I know that the wheels were 4'2" but I have no other info. I could do with a line drawing if one exists but If I can find out the wheelbase I can guestimate most of the rest. Thanks in advance.

IIRC they were 'off the peg' industrial locomotives. There was a very similar loco at Mangapps Farm, I don't know if it is still there.

According to thier website the only Hunslet they have dates from Victorian times. You may be thinking of 'Brookfield', an outside cylinder 0-6-0T, which was built by Bagnalls. I don't recall ever seeing anything from Hunslets that looks like L30/31. Apparently they are mentioned in 'Model Railway News' for May '68 but I don't know if that includes a drawing. Thanks anyway.
