The Met line's been less than perfect recently, and what really helps me decide whether to take the roundabout route to work via the Piccadilly or not is my smartphone app, which gives me Trackernet (I assume) information. However, if I'm lucky, Rayners Lane staff announce how many minutes a Met line train is away. This is great, but if Ruislip Manor staff did this, it would be even better, as it's my starting station. Does anyone know why Ruislip Manor staff only give a service level announcement? I know it's live: I can hear them breathing, etc...

Mrs Metman has been very unhappy recently, as delays to Uxbridge are mounting. She had to wait nearly 20mins this morning outside Rayners only to miss her Piccadilly Line connection to Sudbury!
No anouncements were given for 15mins!

Ribbit, I also commute from t'manor and you are spot on. I have resorted to pressing the Information button on the help pod thingy before now just to provoke some sort of response.

You are blessed with a member of staff who actually cares about the poor sods standing about wondering where their trains are. If the electronic displays actually worked we wouldn't be dependant on announcements

Yeah, he seems alright, The displays dont work because of lack of technology on this line that allows realtime info to be diplayed. Its just a policy Metronet had when they refurbed a station

The displays dont work because of lack of technology on this line that allows realtime info to be diplayed. Its just a policy Metronet had when they refurbed a station To be fair to the evil Metrodebt, the contract with LU did demand that the displays were installed during station refurb, even if the means to put useful info on them came later. It would have come as part of the resignalling etc., now delayed....
