I have been told that in 1984 there was some damage done to the tunnel at Waterloo, services were turned at Piccadilly Circus and that a single train ran between Elephant and Waterloo anyone have anymore on this.

During the early hours of Friday 18 May 1984, flooding was discovered in the northbound Bakerloo Line tunnel between Waterloo and Embankment. A cast iron tunnel segment had become damaged during track reconditioning work. The incident occurred some 500ft south of Embankment. Until 07.00 that morning trains reversed south to north at Piccadilly Circus. Through services then resumed with a 5mph speed restriction through the affected section and 11 trains ran E&C-QP for the morning peak.
Between 12.30 and 16.00 services were once again reversed at Piccadilly Circus with 5 trains in service, but a one-train single-line shuttle was set up on the unaffected southbound line between Embankment and Elephant & Castle to enable repairs to begin.
The 5 trains (QP-PIC) were - Train 1 - 10221+11148 Train 2 - 10161+11248 Train 3 - 1220+1211 Train 4 - 10255+11262 Train 5 - 10187+11162
The shuttle (Train 100) was 1208+1203 (see also below).
From 16.00 an 11-train E&C-QP through service resumed.
From 23.45 Friday night and all day Saturday 19 May services were again suspended south of Piccadilly Circus.
Services resumed on Sunday 20 May but the 3-day bank holiday (26-28 May) was used to complete repairs. In addition to the main service an 18-minute-interval shuttle was also provided between Waterloo and Elephant & Castle on the southbound line using 1959 Stock units 1208+1203.
A few more details will be found in Underground News No.271 (July 1984), pages 78-79 under the title of "There's a Hole in my Tunnel .....".

I'm guessing the crossover at Piccy Circus, that causes the southbound platform to be visible from the front of the northbound platform, was used. I love that. Is there anything else like that in an underground station (tube) on the LU?
