Ickenham altogether feels frozen in time! This is true! It doesn't look as though the PPP on the Underground got round to doing Ickenham before Metronet collapsed!

Certainly Ickenham was one of the (many) Metronet stations that were not refurbished before they 'collapsed'.

Ickenham altogether feels frozen in time! IMO, Ickenham still has a "modern" feel to it--knowing how it was "renovated" in the early 70s.

Modern for the 70's feel lol, Hillingdon station is a mess! All the white framing is slowly being taken over by algae and the red on the roundels is fading that place needs a clean up! I like my part of the Met and Picaddilly lines, all sorts of stations there. The grand terminus at Uxbridge, the Modern Hillingdon, 70 - 80's feel Ickenham, 1900's Ruislip, 1930's Ruislip Manor, 1930's Eastcote and 1930's Raynors Lane

There are some photos in the LT Museum's collection - www.ltmcollection.org/photos/index.htmlA search on 'Hillingdon' does bring up a lot of photos, though - many of which are not of Hillingdon station! However, I find that the photographic collection is always interesting to browse around.

Re the OP, the "voice perfect" PA system has an option for the user to select which lines are closed, part suspended, delayed etc etc as part of a general service update. Theoretically, you are supposed to record such updates manually, but sometimes the electronic versions are used. - so therefore it was the Supervisor on duty at the time who manually selected the "closed" status for the ELL.

Re the thread under the ELL about the Out of Date East London Line poster, this very morning at Ickenham, there was an auto announce that said "the East London Line is closed .....". Surely there must be an 'erase', 'delete' or 'update' button somewhere?? As has been mentioned elsewhere, Harrow on the hill has been playing a message that "The East London is closed" (Thinking - not heard it for while now). Today one of the automated service status messages there ended with ", and there are minor delays on the East London Line". Has someone just realigned the delay reporting criteria so they can report only "Minor Delays" when there has been no train for three and a half years? ;D ;D ;D ;D

I think there were delays on the London Overground today, and I guess a lazy person used the ELL message rather than record their own (correct) version.
