There are thousands of images on the web depicting station exteriors at various points during the last century, but can anyone recommend a site for images of the insides of stations - whether booking hall area or platforms - from the past. Do any forum members maintain historical websites? My interest is very general - no specific line or area.

At a guess I would have thought many stations in the suburbs look the same, just with flourescent tube lighting rather than the filament bulbs. Mornington Crescent got done up quite nicely Im guessing its based on the original? Ickenham hasnt changed much though it was only built in 1971

Ickenham hasnt changed much though it was only built in 1971 I thought it was built (originallt) in 1905??? That info is only from wikipedia, but it isn't a resent build. It might have been rebuilt in the 70's. Though, you may have ment this, and I have misenterpreted you.

Have you tried the LT Museum collection website? Best place to start.
There's also a website about the Yerkes platform tiling if you search for it sure it will come up.
Mornington Crescent isn't based on the original design, which was a bespoke tiling pattern.
Suburban stations looking the same couldn't be further from the truth, I've not seen two that look the same. Similar designs and style of course, but if you include the platform area most are incredibly distinct.

I meant they look nearly the same as they were when opened, just with barriers and info screeens etc and new signage. I did mean the 70's re-build for Ickenham

I meant they look nearly the same as they were when opened, just with barriers and info screeens etc and new signage. That is an oft held perception but it isn't so at all. There have been many programmes of station modernisation and then such things as UTS which required the rebuilding or alteration of many ticket offices. Works are forever ongoing across the system and tend to come in waves and when things change slowly the changes are soon forgotten by most.
