Okay, let's see if I am doing this correctly within Rule No.9 since I'm new here... So, hello, and I'd like to share with members my work for converting a train of the Metropolitan line A60/A62 Stock for use in Trainz Railroad Simulator 2009 and later. Here are the images, in PNG format (Note: larger than 200Kb): img189.imageshack.us/img189/9962/add1em.pngimg695.imageshack.us/img695/329/add2d.pngAt the moment it is the trailer car, so it can be used in conjunction with standard locomotives since the game doesn't recognise types of couplers. Unfortunately the ends of the trailer car isn't complete because I am currently looking for daylight-lit photos of the end of the trailer car. Technically, the resolution should be big enough to make it look realistic in-game and not "blurry" or "blocky". The pictures requested will be used for the project only, and for other users to admire. Graffiti will be removed under Rule 8e. Thank you.

Thanks, I have seen the video, but I have asked for high-resolution photos. The reason is because of the detail of the emergency lights and the undercarriage, including the couplers.

Well done, I'd love this! Will you be making a .cdp available for download in addition to uploading to aurans database? Keep up the good work

I will be CDP but I am hoping to host it independently. At the moment I am revising the roof to "new" condition. Also, I hope to sift through the TfL Historical Archives for further research data which could make the train more accurate.

Sounds like youre planning a through job. Some of the recent scrapping pictures show the ends of carriages well btw if you've missed them. Don't blame you if you didn't want to look however How are things coming along? Btw; www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/foi/Rolling_stock_Data_Sheet_2nd_Edition.pdf page 17 give a highly detailed side elevation. Regrettably the drawing is pixelated and rotated ever so slightly by about 0.3 degrees. But its actually a minor problem. How is progress coming?

The trailers emergency lights on the outside of the roof domes will normally be found adjacent to their motor cars. Therefore, even numbered trailers will have a light on their A and an odd numbered trailers will have a light on their D end. The motor cars have the opposite. All DM trailing ends have opening vents above their R/S doors but the trailers vary. All A60 trailers (6000-6123+6232-6235) do not have vents. The early A62 trailers are the same. Not sure where the cut of is but perhaps around the 6136-6137. Finally, most of the A62 motor cars have a beading line round the destination box. This starts around 5156 I think. As with everything, try and find photos or see the real things - but be quick!

I have attended a TfL Historical Archives appointment today and I have found instructions for operating the vehicle, which should give some direction. For copyright reasons, despite the 30-year closure I cannot publish them here but most dimensions bar the OPO conversion are congruent with the refurbished version as the Official Handbook quoted it being a limited refurbishment.
I am not sure whether the following will be considered, but now I know where the initials above the windows go: EPBIC, ConG, and so on!
I intend to keep making research journeys to double check the post-refurbishment modifications and try to get in touch with those who look after them. Under Forum rules 7b and 7c, I will not give out any Internal phone numbers or Full names or personal details of employees.

I have also made a start on the 1967 tube stock considering their demise (the image below is 640x480 pixels under rule no. ). The position and length of the saloons is actually made a bit easier because the width of the windows and the length between the windows and the side of the saloon are actually the same throughout, but I haven't got a measurement for the width of the windows (I am trying to figure it out using a formula). The windows themselves may not be on the current render, but that is because I am going to make use of the alpha masking function for realism reasons.

Its amazing how much effort has been put into the interiors aswell as the exterirors. I thought the A stock interior was an actual A stock till the posters loaded up! Good work mate.
Is there any chance you can make some for Railworks?

Returning to the A Stock, the racks have been completed. I have checked to ensure that they are correctly sized. I have also removed the adverts as they were too distracting. I am now working on the handles which are above the saloon seats. The cleaning of textures have been made difficult by the graffiti, which I have to remove under Rule 8e. (640x480, 215kb)

Surely graffiti would add more realism in the real finished thing?

Surely graffiti would add more realism in the real finished thing? That is very true; but as you well know the Forum Staff take a very dim view of condoning graffiti - vide Rule 8e - and I think antje has made the responsible decision in not replicating it on this occasion, even though it is 'virtual'.

Unbelievably good, you've certainly got an attention for detail! Well done, very much anticipating its finish!

More on the Victoria line train, and getting the dimensions dead right:

It's coming along really well Antje! Will you be doing an unrefurbished model as well? I gave up on my MSTS one for a bit but might restart it as a Railworks model, but this time refurbished rather than original.

They look fantastic! I wonder if such computer-aided design would come in handy for modellers.? Is it graphics such as these that the likes of Burkitt use to such great effect to cast resin models?

I presume with that basic shell you could make both a 72ts MK1 and MK2 and at a real push 73ts?
