The other half was waiting at London Bridge tonight only to be told that no trains were running to Forest Hill due to broken down London Overground trains...
Why were/are the 378's more susseptable to this than the southern rolling stock.
P.s. Lots of arcing tonight, looked like someone was trying to run a seam weld down the live rail...

The DC line seems to be doing pretty well during this snowy weather. It did stop running for a time when the heavy snow fell at the weekend but, other than that, it seems to have been trundling quite reliably between Euston and Watford.
It's certainly been more reliable than London Midland over the past couple of days!

In defence of the much-maligned 378s I've used LO quite a bit over the last few days, with no problems. I've been on the DC, NLL and WLL and other than a reduced frequency on the WLL (from pretty rubbish 3tph to very rubbish 2tph) it's run fine, and on time. To be fair, during the worst of the weather on Saturday anything would have needed a snow-plough, x-ray vision and some sort of force-field to safely run!
I spent a long time waiting at Harlesden the other day for the Bakerloo; of course, it didn't turn up. Despite DMI and voice announcements constantly telling me Bakerloo trains were about to arrive (on either platform); none did! I'd like to believe it was an error rather than a gross extension of LU's well-documented propaganda policy but I didn't realise that 'Minor Delays - Minor delays are occuring between Queens Park and Elephant & Castle due to adverse weather' also meant 'by the way we are not operating North of Queens Park'!?!
I also observed London Midland and Virgin trains CRAWLING up and down by Willesden Junction, so all in all I have to conclude the 378s whilst perhaps being generally troublesome don't appear to have been disproportinately affected by the cold. My hands however, are. Brrr this took me so long to type!

Never had these issues with Oerlikon, LMS Compartment of Class 501 EMU's. Fairly basic but reliable technology with with lots of proper seats!

The arcing would be due to the ICE mode that we are having to use at all times right now. As stated in a previous thread, it continously draws a current, even when not in a power notch, and giving jolts and arcing, especially across section gaps.

The 18.37 Ex Euston was canceled and when I arrived at Harrow, the 18.28 to Watford was running 20+ late with the 18.48 running just behind it.
