Saw this new rolling stock book being advertised on-line: www.blurb.com/my/book/detail/1896269Oh, alright, it's a bit of shamelss self-publicity by me. I just wanted some of the images I've taken in 2010 to reach a wider audience. I'd rather see it done by Ian Allan and stocked in bookstores but would they be interested (and who would I approach?). Anyway it'll sell one copy at least as I've ordered myself one! No different to getting holiday/wedding etc photos made into a book really is it? PS - the prices aren't set by me although I do have a little mark-up (wink).

Good effort there 21146 and certainly worth £20-odd quid for all your dedication in getting to far-flung places at strange times Could your copy using Blurb be used as a mock-up for the various publishing companies, e.g. Capital Transport? It's certainly of publishable quality and has more info than some of the published books out there. Could Abe on here, who wrote the Aldwych book be of assistance? If no go, definitely plug it at your related event in Feb - you could well shift a few copies that way too.

The author's name I recognise! How is he these days?
As to Ian Allan, well......my magazine is an IA one and I am also writing a book for them. I am willing to pass on any requests to the 'Books Editor' if that helps. I may also get a lead-in to the bookshops side whom I have never had to personally deal with.

Hopefully, Capital Transport snap up the offer, or failing that, Silver Link Publishing might...

You might also try the New Kids on the Block, CRECY PUBLISHING of Trafford Park, Manchester, who acquired the Nostalgia Road railway and road transport titles and who are looking to produce more in the future.

Mr Rennie, if you read this, I sent a link to a contact at Crecy Publishing as I have been 'inherited' by them on their taking-over of Trans-Pennine Publishing's railway/road transport books. This is what they said: Thanks for the link. I presume it is self published and the book is to be distributed? If so, that’s a possibility and we’d need a copy of the book. If the book needs publishing we’d also be happy to consider adding it to the Nostalgia Rd series. Again we’d need the book either on email or disc to consider it fully.
We are pulling together books for your 2011 catalogue and as such we’d need the information before Christmas if possible.
Please let me know if I can help further.

I would give her a ring if I were you.
Crecy have taken on the Nostalgia Road series that includes my books (especially the Class 40s one), and they seem a genuine and honourable outfit.
