When Crossrail starts operating and Heathrow Connect is absorbed into it, what will happen to the Class 360s that are currently with Heathrow Connect?
Will they be rebranded and given to HEx?

332s cannot work in multiple with any other stock (apart from the 333s, which are the same thing) so that would remove some operational flexibility if they did. The 360s do have ATP though, so may well be usable on the HEx.

Perhaps the trains can be used for AirTrack?

I always thought it would be more sensible for HEx to have them as they already have a 360 for the Heathrow Central - Terminal 4 shuttle service.

But HEX don't need them, as they already have sufficient class 332s and I doubt that the Terminal 4 shuttle will survive Crossrail arriving. The 360/2 units would be more likely to join the class 360/1s on the intermediate length routes from Liverpool Street.

Yeah I sort of had that in mind too.

Yes, the Great Eastern services from Liverpool Street-Essex use some. Perhaps they will displace some 321s to the West Anglia routes and some of the older 315s/317s will be withdrawn?

Or it would be nice if some of the 321s would be replaced by 360s. I am unable to comment on 315s on the West Anglia route, but some of the 315s on the Shenfield metro services actually seem to be in better nick than the more modern 321s.

I don't really like any of the rolling stock used by NXEA besides the Class 153, 170 and 360.

The class 321s are currently going through works for improvement, they started with the units most recently transferred from London Midland. The class 315 now seem to be in a common user pool (all the units can be seen on either WA or EA routes).

Another idea would be if the wires went to Taunton/Exeter the class 360's are used by FGW on London Paddington - Bedwyn or Cardiff - Bristol - Taunton services althugh the sets would have to have 1 carriage removed to reduce them to 4 carriage sets which would be ok for both routes.
Those cariages which are removed could then be sent to London Midland to strengthen some sets

The original plan when HEx purchased the Class 360/2 was to sell them when Crossrail started. As far I as I am aware this is still the plan but I can ask. One is currently branded as a HEx and used as the dedicated CTA-T4 Shuttle.
