Would that be Piccadilly Line tracks passing over Central Line tracks in the North Acton area. Central Line proceeding to/from Ealing Broadway and the Piccadilly Line heading toward or away from Park Royal? Highly possible I have it the wrong way round and it is actually Central Line passing over Piccadilly Line.

I'm thinking rail bridge carrying District (Ealing branch) and Piccy over the NLL, just north of Gunnersbury. The curve seems wrong though, image mirrored to trick us?

Tend to agree but there is no third rail showing so maybe it has been removed via Photoshop, the signal is in the right place and the curve is right, not forgetting that the forth rail runs just over 8 cars from Gunnersbury round the NLL to the signal and its missing.

In fact the "downstairs" line has no electrification, which makes me think it might be the line from S.Acton towards Brentford, though the curve is a bit sharp for this line. My first thought was Greenford, but the signals there are still semaphores...

I remembered the stuff about the fourth rail ending, but forgot to look for a third rail!

My first thought was Greenford, but the signals there are still semaphores... That was another thought but that line hasnt got any real curves in it although no current rails are on it, I suggest its still the first guess but doctored. TMBA

It's the South Acton to Brentford line going under the Pic/District looking south taken from the level crossing I think

That's close enough for me: Answer: Between South Acton and Kew Green - District and Piccadilly Line bridge east of Acton Town [Anonymous] *Click image for a larger version*

But the third-rails? Did you edit them out, somehow? The line on the bottom is unelectrified...

But the third-rails? Did you edit them out, somehow? The line on the bottom is unelectrified... The NLL is electrified throughout. If it is the line from S.Acton to Brentford, which IS unelectrified, then that is a different answer,an answer given by two other participants...

In which case, obviously the overhead wires or third rail is yanked then. Not sure which the NLL is at that point.

"Between South Acton and Kew Green - District and Piccadilly Line bridge east of Acton Town" is the answer given to me by the photographer. Per the quiz policy on photographs taken from the front of trains, that person will remain anonymous unless they choose to reveal themselves.

Apparently taken from Bollow Lane LC facing towards Kew East Junction, south of Bollo Lane Junction. I think!

The bridge over the south Acton to gunnersbury tracks is longer and crosses at quite a diagonal angle compared to the short and more perpendicular one for the line going to brentford and Kew bridge. And the angle looks right when passing in a train on the bridge. I think...

According to this thread (answers 7 and 19) that line was electrified in 1916!

According to this thread (answers 7 and 19) that line was electrified in 1916! All true. I seem to remember that services on these lines were withdrawn around 1940,and,presumably the conductor rails removed soon after.(Though, unless memory deceives, the "other" platforms at Kew Bridge may still have them for just-in-case). Point is,it ain't elecric now,and either the photo in the quiz was altered, and I'm interested how,or it wasn't the NLL,but the line between S.Acton and Kew East-jct.

I can't get that linkl to work - try this one! Just down the road at the other level crossing, Mr Google got caught by the lights and had to wait - spot the discontinuity, especially in the following traffic! A 313 is visble in South Acton station as the car eventually crosses
