One for anyone with a bit of historian in them:
Did all of the 1960s-era resignallings of sites with single trailing crossovers include the requisite SHUNT AHEAD and REVERSE light boxes? I was at Charing Cross Northern (C) today trying to get the trailing crossover (and failing!) when I noticed that the signal had a lightbox that said "REVERSE". BAET has stated that Piccadilly Circus (BP) and Paddington (BD) have them, while COLIN has also found that Embankment (EH) has them as well.
Given that the site was worked on in the 1960s to add the programme machines, were the light boxes added then as part of the installation of the above?

At Charing X there are no PMs and there is not even an IMR as such it's the old frame if my memory serves me right.

Interesting - I always thought the Northern Line was fully resignalled, with the old frames replaced. But that really doesn't answer my question

When I visited Strand about 3 years ago, it was an old signal frame, being worked like an IMR, complete with diagram.

Ah - so it's like West Kensington East then? Err... Pass Other than Baker Street (Bakerloo and Jubilee) and Waterloo (Bakerloo) they are the only ones I have visited (that I can recall at least.)

I recall there was a sign at South Harrow WB. As it was controlled from Rayners Lane, there had to be a way of telling the driver what to do.

Depending on the mode the site was in auto reverse then the signs would illuminate and the plungers where provided would need to be pushed, if the site was in manual then the signs would not be illuminated before Piccadilly was resignalled the signalman operated a switch on the frame for the reverse sign.
