Can anyone give details of the work at Uxb Sidings? I understand that 2(?)7 road is being removed as part of the alterations, presumably for S Stock. Why is this, and if it is because its too short, could it not have b een kept for use by the pics? Talking of pics, anyone have any?  Much obliged! |

Basically once the whole project is complete, one road will have been removed and the rest "slewed" slightly to allow them to become slightly longer. The signalling on the ground (which ironically it won't be ;D ) will also have been revamped to much more modern standards.
It is for the S-stock, and also to allow the buffer stops to be replaced with modern "arrestors." Regardless of the new stock, the sidings will at some point have needed to be revamped. There is no question of abandoning Uxbridge as it forms an integral part of the stabling arrangements for the Met Line service.

Is the sidings used for piccadilly line aswell? Apparently... as in the next Working Timetable for the Picadilly line, one service is stabling in the platform rather than the sidings. Never seen one, but then I'm rarely in Uxbridge late at night. |

Thanks for the reply! Look forward to seeing it all when its done. Will some sort of gantry be installed for the signalling? Sounds very interesting.
