Peco used to make them, but they are the SR type I don't know if they are the same. Try asking on a model railway forum, I would suggest RMweb.

Peco do indeed manufacture the conductor rail chairs and rail. You can buy them from East Kent Models - good place! Give them a call, at 01227 770777. They come with plates so you can adjust the height. Metromodels used to sell them but now refer people to East Kent Models. They don't have an online shop, though.

One thing to remember when putting your fourth rail down is that the centre rail is only a scale 1/2mm above the running rails so using Peco or Scalefour chairs may raise the height too much. Also, if you are taking the layout to shows the Peco chairs may not be up to the constant transportation and setting up of the layout. As for the rail to be used for conductor rail Peco code 60 is the recommended one. As with the chairs this should be available to order from your local model shop (should you have such a thing) or directly from Peco. Good luck with the layout and remember that posting pictures of your layout is a must.....

I use Peco chairs with code 55 track but superglue them into the holes and onto the conductor rails solid as a rock. The 4th rail is laid straight on the sleepers this is because I use Code 75 track as the Peco 3rd rail is designed Code 100 track. Good luck with your project Xerces Fobe

These are wise words! My class 168 grounds iteslf on the peco 4th rail and also the scalefour soc 4th rail. Therefore I use the small insulators without the bases to gain the required clearance.

The Peco 3/4 rail chairs (IL-120) are fairly quick to install. I use almost exclusively Peco code 75 track and have found to get the height right in the 4th rail (center rail), I drill a 0.5mm deep hole in the sleeper whose diameter is that of the insulator. This reduces the head of the center rail by the correct scale amount in relationship to the third rail. I pre-drill the track and points, lay it and then load the Peco chairs onto the code 60 rail, making sure the distances on the insulators matches where the holes are on the track, then glue the insulators into place. This site is very useful: homepage.ntlworld.com/russelliott/3rd-4th.html I think I've spent a significant part of my life doing this, I think.
