I've notice that in the current timetable (and the previous one), there are no booked rusty rail movements over the following:
Bethnal Green crossover Queensway Crossover Leytonstone platform 3 via crossover to westbound main Woodford platform 3 via crossover to westbound main Loughton platform 4 via crossover to westbound main Liverpool Street crossover (west of the station)
There may be others, but most of the other moves without regular timetabled moves are covered (Liverpool Street sidings, British Museum Siding, Marble Arch siding) etc.
How do they ensure that those routes without a booked rusty rail move get covered?

At Liverpool Street, were they using the crossover or the sidings, or both, I wonder?

This was used some time in the last 18 months (sorry, can't remember when!) when the train I was on stopped in tunnel after someone was taken ill some way ahead and the driver was sent wrong-road back to LST to let us all off during the blocking back that was happening!

Would a train that tips out @ Ruislip Gardens and proceeds to road 23 next to West Ruislip station before entering Ruislip depot also be considered "rusty rail"? I saw a quite a few of these in a WTT from 1997.
