Good Evening Ladies & Gentlemen,
Rather then clutter up my previous thread and drifting further off topic; I decided to open this one. its about my attempt to model an LU terminus in several A4 box-files. Unlike most modellers my creativity is confined to the summer months as my job (being retail) doesn't allow me much time off during the winter with the run up to Christmas etc.
I did manage however to have a play about in Rail-Sim and build a 'full size' layout of what I'd like to achieve if it were possible the pictures are below:
All knocked up with the default items from the sim, aside from the fantastic standard stock pack. I have tried to place 4-rails but it became incredibly taxing for what was supposed to only be essentially a 'mock-up' for the model.
The basis behind the model is to do with the history of the defunct Morgan tube line, the Piccadilly, City & North East London Railway. It is supposed in my alternate history that the GNP&BR purchased the powers for the extension to Rainville Road in West Fulham, originally for further depot accommodation - which never happened the line was built by the GNP&BR as a sub-surface route diverging from west out of Hammersmith (D&P) turning south and heading past Queen Caroline Street towards the West Fulham site.
The line was built purely as a single track extension with a station built at the end rather then a depot, the station is situated on what is Holyport Street in Fulham and is primarily served by a shuttle service provided by the District Line to High St Kensington. With the odd Piccadilly service being diverted, and occasionally Metropolitan Stock as well from the Circle Line.
Entirely fictional; I would however like to hear any thoughts people may gave on my model - its history, the plausibility and implausibility, service provision anything whatsoever... I do hope to have some real work done on the model to show off soon, this simulation was knocked up in the space of two-hours or so.
Many Thanks,
~ Green Ranger
