According to the latest service updates, Latimer Road westbound will remain closed until next August. It used to be beginning of this December. That is some overrun. Last time I was there, which was several weeks ago, the works seemed to be progressing with the new section of platform already mostly in place.

Unfortunately, the structure and foundation underneath a large section of the old platform has been found to need a fair bit of attention. Therefore a great deal of work is going to be needed to rectify this before the work can go on to be completed.
Unfortunately, when dealing with structures that are decades old, this is one of those things you don't find out until you start digging deeper. The contractors and LU could not have known in advance.

Is there any real need for Latimer Road Station now that Wood Lane Station is open? Just a thought.

Of course?! The great big fat main road in the middle which prevents travelling directly between the two on foot IMO segregates the patronage of each station, despite the fact that they're such close stops. There's plenty of residential North Kensington where Latimer Road is a hell of alot more convenient than either Ladbroke Grove or Shepherds Bush/Holland Park

The A40 segregates Wood Lane. The only way round is to go via Westfield. We could really use some footway under that road.

I don't even live there; friends of mine do, but I'd still second that!

It would be cheaper and safer to set up Oyster not to charge if you tapped in and out between the two stations within a given time.
Is there any chance here and elsewhere that work is ongoing/planned of another Mornington Crescent situation?

Speaking of structural problems with Latimer Road, has anyone else noticed how twisty the stairs to the eastboud platform have become?

Just noticed this message has appeared on the tfl website: Closed eastbound from Sunday 5 December until Saturday 11 June, inclusive. I'm assuming this will be for checking the Eastbound platforms or maintenance work. Just read this article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latimer_Road_tube_station#Refurbishment Is true its to allow a new entrance to be built

Looks like pretty much a total station rebuild. Will it be Shepherd's Bush Chrome look?

Great photos - thank you. I am assuming that the whole station closed as planned a couple of weeks ago, as the information on BBC teletext still shows WB trains non-stopping!
