Hello all, Whilst I am here I thought I would plug a link to a Victoria Line Signal Sim I have made in Railways Sim. sites.google.com/site/railwayoperationsimulator/home/railway-projects/lu-victoria-lineOn there is the download for the sim and my layout, plus a short description on what it is about. Be aware that I do not work in Coburg Street box, so I used a Quail and Victoria Line diagrams to create it. It probably isn't 100% accurate, and I added the Piccadilly Platforms in just so there was something else to do. The WTT is mainly fictional as I do not hold a WTT. If you get the hang of the sim, you can make your own Timetable if you wish. The signalling is 3 aspect yes, As the simulation was created last year, it is in early stages but it is planned for Semaphores and LU signals to be included. Hope you like it! James.

Two points I can't see any headway posts and the cross over at Victoria is the wrong way round.

Hello Paul, The most I could add in the sim is signals only unfortunately, since the program is new is not got tonnes of features yet and is rather basic. I didn't write the program either. As for the crossover at Victoria, do you mean the one at the north of the station? If so, according to my Quail map, it is the right way round Regards, James.

Headway posts are a sort of signal the experts will explain more here are two links Harsig's excellent detailed and Tubeprune's also very good site. The cross over is north of the station. Hello, What are you doing first of all, the program takes a bit of getting used to. First you have to load the railway then load the timetable (all do-able in the sim) then click operate railway and make sure you hit the play button at the top to get the time rolling. You should be able to click on one signal to the other to set a route. Keep trying all the buttons or read the manual Let me know how you get on. I would try and build up Earls Court CC, now I know how the program works (Viccy line was more of a trial) just I don't have the signal diagrams for the panel.

Yeah, I've operated trains out of Seven Sisters, but stop them at Tottenham to get the trains out of Northumberland Park Depot, but they wont let me leave, causing a tailback from Walth to Tott!

Robert - Have you managed to successfully set the route out of Northumberland to Seven Sisters and have the signal clear, or does it say something about route not valid?
londonstuff - Unfortunately the website states it was designed on an XP platform so I'd imagine it is Windows Only. It was created using Borlands C++ IIRC, so I don't know if that type of coding is readable on Macs to be honest.
Regards,
James.

Hi there
I have downloded it from your website and it just gives me this when i open the file
Victoria Line2010.ttb as a TTB File Victoria Linw.dev as a DEV File Victoria Line.rly as a RLY File
It does not let me open the game or anything it just brings up a box saying Windows can't open this file asking if i want to use a web service or to select a program from a list of installed programs.
Could someone help me please

Download the actual Railway program first, underground16 - that may help! Then you will want to load the RLY file from within the program, then the TTB file.

Just to confirm that is not my site, It is hosted by the author of Railways.
Paul - I see there error you are getting. Simple fix. You are setting automatic routes (which turns the signals to automatic working) If you look at the top row of buttons, the 4th from the left there is an icon with a black stick, a yellow circle on it and a red line that goes more-less upwards.
Click on this button and you can set manual routes, this will allow you to set the route out of Northumberland Park

To have trains running you have to go to the menu at the top and find the option to load a timetable. Load the Victoria Line.ttb file supplied then go back to the menu and find the operate railway option. Then click the play button on the row of buttons at the top and away you go Regards, James.

Hello Ben, Thanks for your comment, I would like to do Earls CC to cover bits of the SSR network but still I need a full signal plan, or I could just place them where I like otherwise! I am working on the Slough IECC panel at the moment, well working on the timetable for it which is a 24 hour TT and is taking some time to do it! (Not working on it at the moment, too busy doing my day job) And yes, if you read the manual (hint hint ) you would know that the button with the blue vertical line (on the row of buttons at the top) sets the route as automatic and keeps the overlap fixed for the same route. You are probably using preferred route setting, which is not for automatic working. Hope that helps James.

It looks far simpler to control Earl's Court Picc than Earl's Court District! ;D

The "load timetable" button is greyed out - and I can't work out how to enable it! I finally got the railway to load but like you the load TT button is greyed out therefore unable to load a TT. Paul

Londonse, when you click 'load railway' change the filetype to .rly instead of .dev in the popup, then load the .rly file. Then you can load the .ttb and play!

They?? It was only me that knocked it up I'd vote for the Met if you were up for doing one. It is sort of easy to make a layout, the author of Railways has supplied details on what to do. Paul - Sorry for not getting your e-mail, I don't really get a chance to go on it much, I shall try and reply later. Regards, James.

With the help of charlie (his session file) i managed to run a good service... when I was fully in control, most trains derailed, got removed or ended up on single line working Remind me never to be a signalman...
