Has anyone noticed how filthy the D stock is becoming lately? On quite a few occasions when changing ends I've noticed it and they are not just dirty they are filthy dirty, I have reported it to the Towerman and the DDM at Upminster that the wash isn't working but nothing seems to be getting done about it, no surprise there!

Occupational hazard. They might start every day clean, but it doesn't take long to get dirty especially if there is fog/rain.
I've taken a bus from the depot to the bus station, and it's been filthy by the time I've got there, and we're not talking more than ½ a mile!

The level of exterior cleanliness varies considerably between operators - seen plenty of filthy First's, but Metroline's always appear pristine.

Train and trackside appearance definately seems to be getting worse since ToT bailed out after the change in City Hall.

I use Selkent/East London a lot when in Town and they are clearly a company who take pride in how their vehicles look.

I've got a few pics of filthy RoadCar buses, but I took them in the middle of winter when travelling the routes in town and country was guaranteed to coat almost everything that moved in a sticky brown wash. Unless one wants to wash a bus or train every trip (realistically impossible without detrimental effect on service frequency and indeed operating costs) one has to accept that British weather is not user friendly, the majority of motorists must know this.
